I thumbed through it.

Nice pictures, lot of Kyle Royer photos.

BIG article on Phil Lobred.....makes me real happy....took it over to him, he hadn't seen it yet. Picture of his grandson Kyle and Loveless together in the Annual made him smile ear to ear.

The stupid prose seems to be gone for the most part, which was the thing I hated most about Joe Kertzman's editorship. It has been replaced with very serviceable descriptions, which still have some prose, just not the pile of before.

Not bad at all.

Best Regards,

A pile of prose?:D

Got mine yesterday.
Photos and knives very nice as usual.
Agree with Steven in that descriptions do seem to be better.
The photo index in the back is a mess however. The listed page numbers don't match maker's knife photos and some makers with photos are left out of the index.

Hadn't gotten that far Kevin, had it for about 20 minutes before taking it over to Phil.

Add at-length comments here, or start a new thread if you want, I would be really interested in hearing your(and others) feedback.

I throughly enjoyed Steve Shackleford's piece on Phil Lobred. Read it first thing.
Gave the rest of the book a quick once over, will get into it deeper this weekend.

That sounds promising, because I hated the "stupid" remarks.

My copy is in the mail. As soon as I have it I will comment.

I received mine the other day too. Admittedly, I haven't gotten past looking at the pictures. Sounds like I will have to do some reading.

It was a nice surprise to get it a few weeks earlier than stated.

Really looks good, mine arrived earlier today - but the photo index, which Kevin pointed out, is a mess. "Mess" is an understatement - someone messed up bigtime in the photo index.

I was surprised to find a Buster Warenski-engraved English Bowie on page 100. Then even more surprised with there being no mention in the photo index at all of Buster Warenski.

More indexing errors of this kind than you can imagine.

There are even makers listed in the photo index who have no knives in the book!
