OK so I am always in awe of the amazing work by the makers here at BladeForums. While thumbing the new Knives 2012 I have noticed some familiar names and knives...

I decided that since our beloved Rick Marchand was one of the amazing makers I would start a Rick-esq. thread. There are more than just Rick so if you find a name of a maker that plays an active role here at Blade Forums post the name of the maker, the page and what you like most about the particular Knife on display!

Rick Marchand - Pg: 118
I have never seen this style of knife by Rick... he has been holding out. The knife has his trademark "Distressed / Aged" appearance and hemp wrapped handle. But he used WOOD! Oak to be exact. Congrats Rick well deserved of publication!

** Side note: In the Blade Magazine I just received today, there is an article on pages 33 - 36 talking about the book "Knives 2012" and Ricks knife was picked out of hundreds (Possibly Thousands) to help "Advertise" the book. (Photo is on page 34 of Blade Magazine)

If no one posts I will have to do another, there are actually quite a few!

Woah.... I got a pm from Ryan congratulating me on being published again... TWICE!

I seriously had no idea that they put me in. What an awesome surprise! Since I don't have my copy of either one yet, I can't comment on any of the other makers.... but when I get it I certainly will.

Thanks Ryan!

Rick

Which one is it..... the Tribal Dagger? (looks like a hafted spear head)

Yeah Rick I believe it is the Tribal Dagger this is what the Info Says:
RICK MARCHAND: The hammer-finished 5160 blade is treated to an aged-like patina to match its hemp-wrapped, distressed oak handle and exposed copper rivet. (Photo by: Point Seven)

Edit: Definitely the Tribal Dagger after looking at your web page.

Congratulations, Rick. Looking forward to seeing it.
