I listen to a ton of podcasts, and outside of a few knife based podcasts, some hosts, like Joe Rogan, have talked about knives, more so about custom knives and the craftsmanship that goes into a well made knife. TV shows don't paint the knife guys as a nut job, most notably Gibbs with his Rule number 9 and his ZT collection, that migrated to other characters. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are supposed to be big knife collectors, as well as guns. Sly is supposedly another, gifting knives to the actors on the Expendables. Many of the characters had some kick ass blades.

One of the podcasts I listen to is Meat Eater, with Steve Rinella. Steve has a very low key persona, but shares information about the area he's hunting in, the people, and while it seems like he's pulling teeth to get an answer, he doesn't do bad job doing interviews. I'd like to see what he carries on his hunts, what he uses to take down game, what he uses in general. There is another bowhunter friend of Joe Rogan's that competes in hardcore races, hundreds of miles, that I'd like to see what he carries. Another friend of Rogan's, in Australia, see what he carries or the kiwis carry when he goes to NZ, see what the aborigines carry in the Outback.

Looks like the late, great John Prine favored a Case slimline trapper.

Steve Rinella is a brand ambassador for Benchmade, and they sponsor his show. Because of that relationship, I don't think he would mention using anything other than a Benchmade in public (even if he does use another brand or even a custom). https://www.benchmade.com/benchmade-x-meateater

Joe Perry and Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) are both big collectors, as is The Nuge (Ted Nugent).
Also, Steven Segal and Sylvester Stallone.
