Hello Folks,

In a strange way, a knife is to me much like a dog. Loyal to the grave and hardworking.

I have a turkish sheperd or karabash or anatolian sheperd. Big dog, listens good to me (and that wasn't so easy to do). Love'm, and I'm quit sure he loves me too as he protecs me and the house with his life.
When i go camping, I always take 'm with me. He gives me a comfortable reason, as I know he'll guard the tent all night long.

Now, are there other knife-people who like dogs? Why? What breed?

greetz, Bart.

I agree with the knife/dog analogy. A good dog is always there and certainly does his share of hard work. I like 'em all (though some I'd rather own more than others). My current best friend LOVES the woods. On our camping trips, he's been sleeping just outside our tent, keeping watch, since he was six months old. And on day hikes he's always there to run ahead and make sure there are no other critters in our way! On a more serious note, having a decent size dog who loves his masters is one of the BEST home-defense plans going. I sleep like a king.

Bart,

Big dogs and big knives go hand in hand.

Anatolians are excellent dogs. I came very close to getting one and still might one day. I am into big dogs too. Presently, I have a Caucasian Ovtcharka, and a Central Asian Ovtcharka (ARBA Champion).
