I have written here about buying knives for our son in the Marines back in the early Y2K decade. I won't re-hash that here but one aspect of that buying was that I bought a whole bunch of knives and spent at least $1,000 doing it . . .which seemed over the top.
.
I was just noodling around on e-Bay this AM and came to realize that the two big deal knives from premium makers (together) today would by themselves exceed that one Grand price point. In 2002, a Chris Reeves "Green Beret goes for around $500 and the Randll #16 "Special Fighter" somewhat more on e-Bay (my lazy research source today).
He has been out for many years n ow, but if I were outfitting him today, I'd have to sell off something . . . undoug=btably something that, " . . .you don't really need !" as my wife might put it.
So, both the Randall and the CRK could be deemed to have inflated by 100% or more.
