Hi guys

Sorry I missed all of the Suspects that attended the NYC show. I made an earlier commitment that needed more time and was a little higher up on the "To do" list.

It looks like we've managed bring up the custom count in the Usual Suspects booty roster :) and recruit more Suspects too! Good job guys and welcome all ye newbies. Hang on cause it's gonna be a wild ride for ya.

I recieved a couple things in the past couple weeks that have managed to put a (BIG) smile on my face and I thought I'd show off some of the items to share 'em with y'all. :)

Ross: Are those two '98's I see. How many does that make now, You Bastid!

Gotta love it, Two Commanders accented with a Ryan 7 Biohazard logo!

RAYE, I don't think those are 98s....look more like the new Mini-C's to me...notice the grooves on the lower part of the handle...near the lanyard hole

linjupei: Good eyes brother! I never even bothered to look closely. I know Ross has an exceptional collection, and thought he may have scored more '98s to add to it.

Ross: Sorry bro, I only hate you a little bit now! ;)
(Mrs. Ray says, 'Hi, ya Bastid!')

A Ryan 7!!! Ross, you BASTID! THat's my favorite Ryan. AND you have two waved 8s. You suck. :D

Sifu, Tattoo got it right. It's a Ryan Model 7. I scored this one from another Suspect :) It is supposed to be the prototype Model 7.

I'm not a big fan of "Point down Incorrect" knives but this one is sweeeeeeet and HUGE. "Huge and sweet" make great knives :D

Raye they aren't '98s. They are the new Mini Commanders. Which I broke in this weekend at a buddy's wedding. I thought going with the discreet carrying Commanders would look good with a suit. They did. (Good call Linjupei)

Laserman, most "booty" keeps me smilin' :D........Ohhhhhh must "BEHAVE"!!!

Heheheh See2 :p

Sorry about not getting into the detail of the pic. Had a long day and it was late but had to check the forums before I hit the hay. But the knife on the left is a Ryan Biohazard Prototype Model 7 (thanks Mr. J), Two mini commanders from EKI and the 1911 is a Vickers customized Kimber.

Enjoy the pic guys,
Ross T.

Oh yeah if anyone took any pics at the NY show please do show them. I'd like to see what I missed.

Maybe not the right place to post this, but what did Mr. Vickers do to your pistol? He's roundly considered the very best 1911 tuner there is. There's not a lot wrong with the Kimber in the first place; I've had one for a few years and love it to death. It was a Christmas gift from a friend. All I added to the Custom Royal was a Wison mag well and Titanium Nitride coated hex head grip screws. Congrats on all the new stuff, especially the Ryan!

Hello Haji,

I don't think talk of firearms is looked down on here in the Emerson forum. Pretty much all of the Usual Suspects I know have a weakness for the distance tool in our goody bags.

There are Glock lovers here, Beretta, 1911 guys and a bunch of other ones I can't seem to get off the top of my head at the moment but there is definetly a pattern in the US's passions.

As to the Kimbers, they are a great out of the box 1911 and a lot of people would be very happy with that. I also hear that the Valtro line, from Italy, with their 1911 clone is going to take the market by storm. But I'm the kinda of guy who likes to make his tools personalized and that's what I do with most of my pistols.

What I had Mr. Vickers do was:

-Supply and fit Match Barrel and Bushing
-Slide to frame fit
-Complete reliability package
-Heinie fixed rear site installed with dovetail front site
-Nite Site inserts for above sites
-Fit and install Wilson hammer
-Deluxe trigger job ( SHORT trigger, 3.5-4 lb. Pull)
-Premium quality Machine Cut frontstrap checkering- 30 lpi
-Supply and fit S&A magazine well
-Remove cast checkerig on S&A mag well and hand cut 30 lpi
-Supply and fit Wilson Bullet proof extractor
-Supply and fit Wolff spring kit
-Supply and fit Exotic hardwood stocks BOCOTE
-Tastefully radius all sharp edges on entire pistol
-Refinish complete pistol all hard chrome-custom prep of all metal
-Get rid of all MIM parts and replace with tool steel parts

I've put over 800 rounds through this baby already and I like it :D

Oh yeah I almost forgot too, Raye tell the Mrs. I said "hi right back at ya" too :)

Hmmmmm Haji, I'll have to check Judges 4:21 out :)

Awesome catch! Let me ask you though. As far as the Ryan goes, is the seven his smallest design??? From the looks of the pic, the blade doesn't really look much bigger than the mini c's. I don't have alot of experience with Ryan's models, but I tend to associate his designs to awesome, but big ass knives.
Thanks,
Matt

I wanna play!

Haven't taken a gun/knife shot yet, but since we are talking 45s, I just picked up this Kimber Pro CDP this weekend:

Ahhhhh, I love these kind of threads. Ok, I'll play:

Top picture is my new Glock 22 with a Caspian longslide and Briley Barrel. It is pictured with my Pre-date CQC6 and my Panerai watch.

The bottom picture is my HK USP .45 with my Strider GB folder.

Emersons and .45s. Can it get any better?

Jazzman, I'm going to have to refer you to others with more knowledge of Ryan knives. The other Usual Suspects will be able to tell you if it is his smallest design. Compared to the pics I saw of Eric Blair's Ryan Model 1. The model 7 may be smaller but the thing is still huge!

Dogman I looked and considered some HKs but got bit by the 1911 bug before I took the plunge. Then the desire for them got put on the back burner.

I just read an interesting report done on a 1911, Glock, HK and another pistol, but I forget at the moment. They each got put in a bag full of sand and shaken and were tested to see the reliability afterwards. You'd be interested to find out which came on top. I'll set up a link to it here when I find it again.

Here is the link:
http://www.1911forum.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002267.html

(The guns in the test were all 45s. The HK USP Tactical, a Customized 1911, a rack grade GI 1911, and a Glock 21.)

NC Blades I see you did the Glaspian treatment on your Glock. Who did you have do that? Was it CAC here in PA.? How do you like it? What caliber is it? Are you happy with the change?

Oh yeah sweet 6s too by the way. :)

BRP, you show off :)
