Knives and Your Other regular Personal Accesories....

Considering the time&care we take to select a knife, was just wondering what level of consideration do some of us take when choosing other regular personal carry or wear items.

What im talking about here is, do you try&match things up to some degree in regards to style,design,technology,theme, color,materials,weight, etc?

Eg:Typical things I have that I carry:
Mini Griptilian yellow
MinimagliteAA Peuter color with blue front ring and yellow tail cord,with Terralux Extreme 100lumen LED(on AA llithiums)
Sunglasses are IC Berlin laser cut surgical satin SS (.020" thick frame). total weight 1/2 oz(15 grams), with patented springloaded screwless hinges.
A leather banded SS porsche Boxster swiss quartz watch.
A Sandisk Titanium USB stick.

A SureFire Titanium LED I dream of, but cant justify just yet!!(would be great matched up with a Ti Mnandi or small Ti Sebenza). Ive had a9n commander but just too weighty, the upgrade minimaglite is very lightweight very effective most the time and cheap! The IC Berlin glasses are pleasure to wear&own(about$400). Im hoping someone may be able to make me a nice Titanium or damascus belt buckle one day.

Any way, lets see how this thread goes.

I took a lot of time to select my mobile phone I always carry with me.
Also finding it where I could get it the cheapest.
I selected the phone for its technology and price.
Its a Sony Ericsson K810i.

Things I carry:
Kingston USB stick 2 gig.
Zippo
K810i plus headphones
Eastpack wallet
Maglite 1 AAA battery no LED
no knife YET

If you want to REALLY get into what people carry, don't say I didn't warn you. <shuffles off into back room of dusty library, comes out with huge tome, must be 100 pounds, and as I walk towards you, blowing the dust off the cover into your faces> Enjoy my boys, enjoy...

Edit: The Kid- no knife?!?! You either need to purchase one of the knives I showed you ASAP or find a way to let me purchase you one here and send it to you! No knife? Airplanes are hard enough for me, for god's sake, I've been known to sit in a corner sharpening nail clippers obsessively while waiting for a layover... Oh, and no malice intended in the upper part of the post. I just thought it was funny that you guys mentioned the topic of a thread that's been raging for over 5 years now, and has only had 3 days since the last post....

And one last thing: I didn't see your earlier post apparently Kn1: Welcome to bladeforums, if you didn't already get a good welcome!

I carry a knife, comb, cell phone, watch, wallet , belt ,and condom every day. Dont care if they match or not.

No, no: you misunderstand me as a bully pickin' on the new guys. Far from it. I admit, I was being a little rough with ya, sorry about that, I was in a punchy mood, and wanted to imagine how your mouth dropped to the floor upon reading the thread :p. I wanted to direct you to the correct resource which essentially is a dictionary, bible, or substantial enough book to take out any bug on the planet Earth, and show off a little of how ridiculous everyone here is about our EDC gear, as one of your original questions was what level of consideration we give to our gear... I wanted to make sure you knew... a LOT!:cool:

Flashlights (need to function well, like Surefires. Not too concerned about looks)

Things I'm *not* concerned about:
Watches (Casio Data Bank is just fine with me)
Sun glasses

Don't use that condom you carry in your wallet, unless your lucky enough to change it out frequently they get damaged from being carried that way.

As for myself I generally carry key's, a knife, wallet, and a cel-phone. Wiley-x's or knockoffs of Ray-Bans or something else stylish suit me fine, had some nice oakleys but I learned they aren't as crushproof as I thought they might be. Watch is a Casio tough solar. I just like what works and catch's my eye. If I'm wearing ACU's I usually carry a leatherman and a flashlight.

my edc gear is as follows:

*always a folder, either a emerson specwar custom CQC13, an EKI CQC12 or a spyderco Ti ATR PE, lately been the '13, usually.

*motorola razr phone

*small punch OC

*fenix P2D-CE w/a leaf clickie tube

*surefire L4 (on my maxpedition rolly polly bag)

*kahr PM9 & 1 spare mag, usually a galco holster and a bianchi mag carrier,sometimes a P9, occasionally a glock 33.

*SS rolex GMT2 w/a burgundy-black bezel

I carry light compared to some others! Everyday I have 2 knives on me; one is a small slipjoint and it actually ends up getting 99% of the work I need a knife to do, the other is a big, single bladed folder that I carry because it is usually one that most people I meet are not going to have in their pocket! I will use it some, but a lot of times it is only pulled to show. Everyone of my large edc's MUST have a pocket clip that allows for deep carry or the knife will not be carried.

Currently my edc is;
-Case Barlow slipjoint
-Kershaw Tyrade with a STR deep carry clip
-Samsung Blackjack cell so I can keep up with you guys when away from my main computer!
-Fenix L1T V2 flashlight
-Streamlight Microstream
-Stingray wallet
-keys on a Kong carabiner
.......and......
-a Client pen, $2.99 at WalMart (made by Pentel)
 
Samsung Upstage (black)
Leatherman Skeletool CX (black)
Fenix L0D CE (black)
then usually one of my folders (all black)
and if i'm really feeling it, ASP 16" Baton (black)
