I don't know about you guys, but I carry 3 knives besides my multi-tool(My Delica, Subcom, Dragonfly).

All I really need is the Delica, but I carry the others for the fun-factor.

Does anyone else here carry a knife/knives that aren't needed?

Please tell me yes. I don't want to feel weirder.

All the time. I always have a Victorinox Compact Rambler on my key chain which is fine for my day-to-day activities. But occasionally you have to throw in a Spyderco Native for good measure!

When I go camping, I always bring my Axe, but you have to throw in a few extra blades - Just in case. Last camping trip I had my Becker Brute and a SOG Bowie on me to supplement my Wetterling Axe. I really only used the Axe though. :D

I can assure you that many people here carry more than 1 knife on them at any given time. :) I usually have 1 main blade and then 2 little SAK's on my 2 key chains. I also have a small multi-tool in my coat pocket.

I USED TO before I changed employment into a very corporate/cubicle/tight-shirt environment.

Now, I carry some sort of "gentleman's" knife and conceal carry something larger (usually a BM 806 AFCK).

But with my old job and on weekends, I carried a lot of things - sometimes up to 5 knives. I'd carry a balisong just to play with when nobody was looking.

I've always considered them "conversation pieces" and even drempt up a script to tell a police officer something to that nature, should I be caught and questioned.

If you think you're the only one on here who thinks "knives/toys" in the same thought, you don't know us very well.:D

Don't worry. You're OK.

[Edit: You're a man in desperate need of a really cool Swiss Army Knife you can show people.]

I carry 3-4 knives at a given time now plus a multitool. I usually have a leatherman charge or a Swisstool plus my DDR GH, Mili, Paramili, or SAK soldier. Sometimes I carry an auto for fun. but i carry several knives all the time for different reasons.

I usually carry three. A ca legal auto as a money clip, a stag Delta Z lockback and either a SAK one hander or a SAK Super Tinker.

Well, I mean multiple carry for that "funfactor". You know, just carrying a certain knife for playing with.

Microtech Trodoon is one of three or four I E.D.C. It is ONLY for the fun factor. I don't want to scratch the black by USING it so I only click it. In,out,in,out,in,out you get it. While watching TV at night, while bored anytime it is my cure. I love watching it jut out in the blink of an eye and mechanically snap back into its handle like a turtle hiding from some prey. I think you are very normal carrying a blade to amuse yourself. I do. Most of the auto knives I own are all for the fun factor come to think of it! Enjoy!

Peace.

But of course. I've just recently managed to convince myself to cut my EDC back down to three, from four. I was carrying both a Spydie Native and a BM Vex, in addition to my other two, though I only ever really used the Native. I just couldn't not carry the Vex. But now I'm down to the afore-mentioned Native, a SAK and an Opinel #8. I could, of course, get by with only the SAK, if I absolutely had to. But I'd probably go insane just from the almost naked feeling.

absofuckinglutely!
I always carry more knives then i'll ever probably need, but ithink thats the whole point. I just got my new FALLKINIVEN NL4 today and wore it to work with my SOG TOMCAT2 ,and my ONTARIO XM-1. I was laughing at myself when i was thinking of reasons to use at least 1 of my knives. I guess I (WE)
get some kind of kick out of being extremely prepared. I am very glad Iam not alone in the 3-4 E.D.C. group.

I alwayse carry at least 3 but I have been known to carry as many as 6. My handle is outlaw918692000 and I have a problem.:D

i just carry one :( But its usually a pretty cool folder. Speed Bump, Yojimbo, etc. I'm usually pretty busy at work tho, not a lot of time to just play with my knives. So thats probably why i dont carry more.

Sorry to disappoint, but I usually carry only one folder unless I'm going into the wilderness. If I have my backpack with me, I also have a Leatherman, but I rarely carry more than one knife on my person.

Of course I would never, and have never carried more knives than I need. I usually need three or so at a time.
Greg

On the weekends it's just one knife. On the job I always have a LM Core in addition to my EDC. The multi tool does the sacrificial dirty work.
