Knives & Clothes

Has anyone else noticed that certain knives carry better with certain clothes? Emerson knives with the Wave carry and open very nicely in Levi's. CRKT Urban Sharks are made for Patagonia Baggies and River shorts. Royal Robbins 5.11 pants have a small pocket on the right leg just the right size for a large CRKT Kasper folder doing away with the pocket sag with this heavy folder. Any other combinations out there?

budrichard- I've definitely noticed that, but especially with the Commander. The Commander works best with work pants (Dickies for example) because the pocket opening is almost a vertical line as opposed to some jeans where the opening is nearly horizontal. Drawing the Commander with work pants you just pull straight back and it's out and engaged, and with some jeans you have to pull up and then back and lots of times I've totally missed the back of the pocket. The Commander is really the only knife that I actually carry in my pocket, my other main carry is a DA Socom and that's usually in the sheath. Donald.

Well, if the tawdry novels my wife reads are to be believed, a Delica rides nicely in a WonderBra...

I've stated to her that I feel that a demonstration is in order, but she continues to resist. I have, in my less lucid moments (and oddly, now that I think about it, always immediately preceding a sharp pain in the back of my head) pondered aloud the possibility that she could just as easily hide a Khukri (or a katana, for that matter) in a WonderBra, but she refuses to verify this, either...

I've noticed that without clothes using the clothing clip gets uncomfortable

Kalindras, my spanish is not great, but is your signature "go with cheese"? Sorry I just had to ask.

I've found that Spyderco makes a knife for any style of dress. The Native and Delica go great with jeans or cargo pants. The Dragonfly makes a fine money clip for more formal attire. The Calypso Jr. lightweight looks as if it would go well with anything, and no wallet is complete without a Spydercard.

I almost always wear Royal Robbins 5.11s and Bluewaters when I'm not in work clothes.

I clip a Commander in the right rear pocket and (currently) a lefty, tip up Spyderco Harpy in the left rear pocket.

In some jeans above the back right pocket is a leather tag sewn on the top and bottom but not the sides so you can thread a belt under it. I don't wear a belt so I clip a folder into that tag. Very comfortable, convenient, and fast, and doesn't take up pocket space. I carry a 710 or AFCK there every day with zero problems. I've found I wear the jeans with this tag much more than those without. Lee and Harley Davidson pants have it, Levis and Wranglers don't. I check all new pants for it and won't buy them without.

Scouter27,

Yep, yep, yep...it flows so much more smoothly than, "Bailando en el bano con la Policia..."

And, it seems to pretty much convey my wide range of cynicism in a forthright and efficient manner...so

Call me odd, but I like a Microtech in Levi jeans, and maybe Wranglers. I can 'feel' the SOCOM, and this has a calming affect on me. My Emerson CQC7-B's laid too flat against the seam of the front right pocket, and I was always 'checking' to see if I lost it.--OKG

Unfortuantly I am a Dress Pants/Shiny shoes and Tie kind of guy

, however, I find the CRTK M-16 with Zytel handles fits perfectly inside the waistband under the belt right next to the first belt loop on the right side-real gald its a tip down blade that opens to the right!
