Drop-point hunting knives with thin blades around 3 1/2- 4", a good amount of belly, and no edge wasted on a ricasso?

Depending on your budget I suggest finding a custom maker who will make you exactly what you are wanting. Price is usually surprisingly reasonable.

Edit: To name just one who I have personally worked with. Look up Darrin Sanders. He made me a small fixed blade that turned out perfect.

That would be my suggestion as well. Otherwise, you could just buy a used Fox River for a reasonable price and be done with it. Do a little looking around at some of the usual places and you might be able to find one right away. ;)

There are lots of customs out there that are patterned after classic "hunter" styled knives.

How much do you want to spend?

Plenty of options out there. If you do settle on the fox river though, you should know its really not a thin knife.
.17" stock on a four inch blade is quite a bit thicker than it sounds once you have the knife in hand.

His 'drop point hunter' looked pretty good until I got to the price and the three-year wait list.

True, but there are some retailers that he sells to that have some inventory on hand. The 3 year wait list seems to confirm the price. :D

The Bravo 1 LT with a Blade Thickness: 0.15" and 4.16 inches blade length looks pretty nice.
