Was just thinking about comparing the two and then started this:

Sedan________Slipjoints
Sports Car____Automatics
SUV__________Tac Knives
Truck_________Hard Use
Motorcycle____Gimick cool tech knives

And of course within each catagory you have the Economy models, which are your standar production models. And then there are the Deluxe, the High End productions. At the top are the Luxury, or the Customs.

This is just what I have so far, but its fun thinking of this comparason, add what you come up with!

Motorcycles are not a gimic ask anyone who rides one. I think they compare very well to a high carbon straight razor. Ultra high performance for cheap, high maintinance, not practical for daily use.

Have to agree on motorcycles not being a gimick. Been riding for almost 40 years and a bike is a serious piece of equiptment.

But they can be used for everyday riding. I've got a '67 R60 BMW that has 138,384 miles on the clock. It had a bit over 20K when I got it 15 years ago and did a total restoation on it.

My '87 R80 has 68,429 on it and it was a daily commuting bike when I was not on the old R60.

Motorcycles may be compared, perhaps, to double-edged balisongs. Exotic and exciting, but make one mistake and you'll be sorry.
:D

Appologies for the hijacking of this thread, but I know motorcycles can be driven every day. I rode a sport bike everyday for 2 1/2 years due to a combination of my stubbornness and a serious lack of funds. So when I say they are impractical I think I'm qualified to say so. Sure you can do it (hey you can carry a straight razor as an EDC if you want to) but those roofs and windshields that come with every car can be real handy when it is raining and 40 degrees outside.

Yeah, Ive had a few spills and they are decidedly not fun. Luckilly I've never been seriously injured.
