Knives drying up?

Of the online sites I go to, only a couple knives in the Becker line (BK9 the most) are starting to be sold out. I'm sure there are more out there, this is just the sites I visit.
I would think there would be a lot of knives sitting on shelves, online or in stores, so does anyone see anything drying up of what you buy?

I mostly focus on slipjoints, and so far I haven't seen much of the supply thinning out or prices jumping yet.

Not knowing what is going to happen with camillus, I figure attrition will eat away at the store stocks, so if I wait on buying stuff, and they do close, I will find that what I really want is already sold.
I have my list of wants, (10 so far) and adding to it, so that when I make my final decisions, I will order them all and get it over with.

I have not noticed any supply problems ot out-of-stock notices with my favorite Internet dealers. eBay listings seem as healthy as ever with no noticeable price spikes. There's a lot to sort out with Camillus yet. I don't think too many folks are hitting the panic button just yet.

I guess most people don't even know about the situation at Camillus Cutlery,
or they just don't care. The BladeForum members are more interested in the
future of Camillus than most knife buying consumers.

Typical???? You mean eveyone doesn't have boxes filled with knives laying around that they spend a couple hundred on each month?
Knives that gets people strange looks when they ask "use" one of them?
Man, what's wrong with people these days?

I've tried to get a BK-11 from a couple of internet stores and found out that they were out of stock. Then I tried ebay and after "purchasing" from two different sellers, they both emailed me to tell me they were out of stock and they had refunded my account. I finally found one and snatched it up immediately !!!!!

Don't get me wrong Andy CN, I am concerned about Camillus' situation. The demise of the company seems inevitable at this point, and that is very sad. But as far as knives flying off the shelves, I really haven't seen that yet.

Yes, there are some BladeForum members that are very concerned about the Camillus situation, but even here, not everyone is a hardcore Camillus fan. And yes, the general knife-buying populace probably has no clue what is going on with Camillus - but that is a good thing. That means there will be more purchase choices for us in the short term! All this panic talk about knives being out of stock and sold out is going to create a frenzy, and the supply will be depleted faster. If you have all the Camillus baldes your ever wanted, then that good for you. However, some of us are on budgets still need to pick up a few blades.:D

NGK has listed the BK11 as In Stock! like most other BK&T knives.

I just checked the BK&T knives at NGK again, and now already 4 of the listed BK&T knives
are out of stock, compared to only 1 knife that was out of stock only a few days ago.

Could be an indication that the BK&T knives are really in very limited supply at the moment,
or that the demand has increased because of a possible closure of Camillus Cutlery.

I don't know how popular the BK&T line is for Camillus, but I'm going to guess the out of stock situation is due to your latter reason. I've seen NGK mentioned quite a bit on this board pertaining to BK&T, too, so they must be a popular vendor for said items.
