most of knives makers are in u.s.a.
what do you think of knive makers in europe?
name some.

I love my new Extrema Ratio, made in Italy. It is an M.P.C. and definitely quite unique in design and execution. Nothing I've ever seen quite like it...

opinel are very good for the money as are Neito
There are loads that aren't in the USA. It's just what you get most in the USA. Most of my knives are British, but then I'm british so that makes sense.

I like EKA and Fallkniven for outdoorstuff. Victorinox (though they get the steel from other places).

There is some very good stuff from Germany

If you think most knife companies are US then your wrong. I'm not trying to put you down. I really don't know what stuff you get from outside the US

Fallkiniven (although actually manufactured in Japan as many other knives) are among the best in the world.

Check out the list at https://www.toolshop.de/g/shop/knives.jsp for example.

There are about as many European brands listed as US ones. They are not stocking any British knives (from Sheffield), Mora/Eriksson from Sweden, Muela from Spain, any Italian stuff, etc. One could hardly say there aren't any knife makers in Europe :)

ahh they do have something in common with US companies then

the Japs seem rather good with this VG10 lark don't they

There are many fine custom makers as well. Check out the "World Knives Links" at Theo's Favorite Knifelinks.
I have a custom hunter by Ferenc Tumpekof Hungary that is superbly made. It is similar to this one (sans engraving):

Jens Anso is a fine maker from Denmark and an active member of the forums.
