I have enjoyed collecting knifes for years, but choices are limited for us left handed folks. So many members and not a left handed forum):Even DKW has an OTF lefty sandshark(:

I just picked up a large left-handed Sebenza 21.

But you are correct, I've handled several right-handed framelocks and never really got why everyone was so into them. Now that I have a dedicated left-handed one, I understand it.

any knife can be used left handed .....trust me. i use my fixed backwards on my belt, also as long as a folder is ambi it works just fine..ive havent had any problems being a south paw.

Hi,

Most pocket clipped modern folders are a bit of a pain to use left handed. Bloody clips tend to make the thumb-studs hard to get at. But I've had good luck with my Kershaw Scallion and Leek.

I think the Benchmade Axis locks might be good for us lefties too. But I've never tried one. Oddly enough the Vic new Soldier is a left-handed liner lock.

the flippers from kershaw are very convienent as well

I write with my left and throw with my right so it works well having a small fixed on my left hip and a large fixed on my right.

I've never had a problem with an fixed blade for left handed use although I sometimes get confused sometimes as to what each hand should be doing.

I just got a spyderco endura and couldn't be happier with it for ambidextrous use.

BM Axis locks, Spyderco lock-backs (I love the Stretch!), CRK lefty special orders, Kershaw's got a few but I can't remember what they are called. (Not just flippers, but some kind of slidy lock.) Balisongs too.

I agree, I have no love for right-handed framelocks, but a lefty framelock with a non-metal non locking face is pretty nice.

Awhile back there was some talk about a "Lefty" forum here at BladeForums...I even voluntered to be a/the moderator, but it didn't pan-out.

As a lefty, I have found that many of the Benchmade Axis-lock knives to be among the best out there for us "Lefties", as the Axis-lock is ambidextrous, and they generally have 4-position pocket-clip mounting built-in. If you can learn to use a liner-lock the "wrong-way", as I have, some of the Kershaw and ZT knives are also pretty good. I EDC a ZT 0301, and it suits me well.

The axis lock (or any of its variations) lock back, work well for lefties. The spyderco compression lock I find to be lefty friendly. I tend to stay away from liner and frame locks since they are too inconvenient for me to use.

I'm not a lefty, but Cold Steel's Triad lock knives should all work well for lefties. I believe most, if not all, of them also have left and right pocket clips. I just got an Endura today and I would also recommend it. The lockback works with either hand and there's no problems with the Spydie-hole.

I'm a lefty. Benchmade, Spyderco, and Cold Steel all have reversible belt clips. The Cold Steel American Lawman can have the thumb stud adjusted for left hand carry. My first folder, the Kershaw Storm, is opened and used easily with either hand, but the pocket clip is not. I've found though, that the pocket clip there doesn't really bother me.

The Hawk Lock. It's on Kershaw's RAM and the ZT 0500. But the lever is accessible for right hand use only.

The Benchmade 580 Barrage (and 585 Mini Barrage) works great left-handed.

Hats off to you Cynic 2701...a right hand frame or liner lock knife is like a shoe on the wrong foot and double sided thumb studs do not make a left-hand knife.
Thanks for your recomendation.......CRK will get my business.

Fellow lefty here and I feel your pain. Of course, you can as others have mentioned, pick up any ambi opening/closing knife with a reversible clip and make that work. The endura would be a good choice. I just picked up a military (lefty) and love it. I find myself wanting to support those who go out of their way to make knives just for us. Besides Spyderco, CRK and Yuna come to mind. I guess it's kind of a blessing in disguise that more makers don't make dedicated lefty folders or I'd be broke.

Glad I could help out. If you are looking for a large left-handed 21 Sebenza, I know of a two places that will be getting a brand new shipment within the next few weeks. If you want I can point you in the right direction for one.

Perforated washers are on the new ones, which is why I would recommend trying to find one that was recently made.

Aside from that, welcome to the forums--I can't believe I didn't see that the original post was your first!
