Hi Guys,

Havent been around here much lately. Been busy with work and life and Danica and I are expecting our first child in 5 weeks. Just got these three knives finished and have had David Brodziak (Western Australia - Australian knifemakers guild representative) to have a look at and see if they meet the standard for me to gain full membership to the Guild. He was happy with them and now I need to see if I get voted in at the AGM next week in Melbourne.

Anyway here are the three in question:

Second is also a hunter CMP154 Heat treated to 58RC at Bruce Barnetts, Tapered Tang and Distal Taper, River Jam Wood and Stainless Pins and Tube.
Third is a forged necker in 1075 (HT by me) with Zebra wood and red G10 Spacers and Stainless Pins and throng tube.

Few more photos.

Hey Matt,
Congrats mate. Great start to a promising new outlet for ya.
Great to see that taper in the tang;) Start work on reshaping things a tad and you will go far...
And you should walk into the Guild mate...always doing the right thing.
Cheers Bruce

Hey Matt, Great work mate. Your a walk up start for full membership! You will be a busy bugga when the baby arrives.
Cheers Keith

Clean work and well executed tapered tangs. You are on the right track.
Your guard and handle could use a little sculpting on the one but still all 3 nice.

Thanks for the kind words gents.

Thanks for the help Bruce. Bruce is my instructor/trainer. He has pushed me to try different things and make them better. He helped by challenging me. Wouldnt heat treat a blade for me unless it had a tapered tang!

Cheers

Matt

Those are very nice. If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to produce that interesting texture on the guard?
