You know, I know it's useless as the left tit on a boar hog but, for the last week or so I've been eyeballing the knife from First Blood, the knife from Rambo: First Blood Pt.II, Rambo III and Rambo (the fourth one).
The first two are, famously or infamously depending upon which end is up, aluminum hollow handles with a "survival kit". The third and fourth are Hibbens, the fourth probably being the most useful of the four.
Here's the thing, if I were to buy either of the two from the first two movies (I'm leaning heavily towards buying the one from "First Blood") it wouldn't be to use.
I'm actually thinking of buying the knife just because of the nostalgic or sentimental value the movie has to me. It's part of the reason I'm the woods-nut that I am, and even my old man reminisces about me running around with a knife on my hip and "playing Rambo".
My question is, am I the only guy in the room that this is happening to? Is it because I'm getting older? Or does this happen to you guys/gals, too? Anybody else have any nostalgia knives that are just there to bring back memories when you hold them?
You know, like that knock-off "survival knife" I keep around and smile at everytime I hold it...you know the ones I'm talking about: dull as a sandstone, crappy material, inch-long rattail tang held on with a double nut setup...if you're lucky, and a "survival kit" in the handle...
