Everyone,

I am sure many here remember conversing with CSM Todd Hibbs of the Army's10th Mountain while his unit was stationed in Iraq. He and I continued to e-mail one another back and forth over these last few months so he placed me on the unit's update list.

He has thanked me and many others numerous times for the donations of goods, knives, and whatever we could offer up. He believes the knives donated from fellow forumites have deeply touched many soldiers.

The 1-87 of the 10th Mountain are due to rotate home this month, and must pass the torch on to someone else.

Mr. Hibbs has provided me with the contact info for the LTC that was running the 1-87 unit. The LTC will be staying to command the new Cav unit filling the 10th Mountain slot.

I am in contact with the LTC, and have asked he provide us with a firm(as much as possible of course) mailing addy, and also a needs and wish list.

If anyone has interest in donating something to help these soldiers feel free to contact me via PM or e-mail and I will put you in touch with the good Colonel when I have that info. (It is proper to refer to an LTC as Colonel for short, correct?)

Since there are always those among us known as "oxygen pirates" trying to lie and steal their way into something I urge anyone and everyone to confirm/validate this information in any way you feel necessary. I have absolutely no problem with that.

These are good people, and I stake my reputation on it.

Remember, it is not how much you give in material, but how much honestly comes from your heart.

Thanks to those that have and will contribute. I promise it will come back around to you in life.

Happy Independence Day, and God Bless the 10th Mountain!

I now have a confirmed mailing address for the Colonel. Please make every effort to contact me if interested in participating.

I think the e-mail notification is down at the moment, so your best bet may be to post here.

The LTC said they have phones, showers and the mess hall where they are located so they are not that bad off. They do love getting care packages from home no matter what the contents, however.

Thanks.

I can vouch also.

I worked with CSM Brian Carlson of the 10th Mtn with a bunch of folks.

He is on stateside duty now.

I sent knives directly to CMS Lehman with the 10th Mtn also. Everything you send goes straight to the troops, and they appreciate it. They will communicate with you, and let you know when the shipment arrives.
