Knives for the the military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I thought some time ago there was a thread about donating knives to members of the military deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan or anywhere for that matter.

It would be a good idea to limit the knives to certain predetermined models so as not to get a bunch of junk.

Has anything like this been set up already?
 
I think Smokey Mountain Knife Works does something like this. Its a great idea that goes to a great cause IMO
