Hi folks,

a friend of mine will visit Australia next month.
He asked me if there were some special kives or knifemaker down there.
Do you know something about? Do you have some links?

Thanks in advance,

Claus

That depends what you want. For an affordable, working folder, it's tough to beat Peter Marker and his prices. Neil Charity makes some very nice gent's knives, but you're well into the $750+ range for alot of them, and your friend might want to use his customs exclusion on more than one knife. Both have web sites.

Here is a David Winch knife design :D

More on his site above.

If you like great forged knives, Steve Filiciette makes some of the best in the world as far as I am concerned. This guy is fantastic. He won best bowie and best of show at the recent North Carolina show. I have known of his knives for a couple of years now and plan on having one in the not too distant future.

Hi Claus !

You find Neil Charity´s knives here and the Australian Knifemakers Guild can be found here .They have links and e-mail adresses to Australian knifemakers.
Hope your friend finds what he´s looking for.

I had the plearsure of being a guest at the Guild Show in Australia this past May. You'll find some of the best makers in the world there. Just check out their guild's web site and go from there. Shawn has already returned after coming here for a show and Steve will be back home in about a week. These guys need to come back morre often and bring some of their friends with them.
