Knives from the 2024 IWA Show

The IWA show was held in Nuremberg, Germany, 29 Feb -3 Mar this year. It's a large trade show, covering 7 Halls at the Messe (Convention) Center. There are not a lot of custom manufacturers, and it's not a show for buying and selling retail. I used to attend this show regularly as part of my job, and for a while I lived near the city, so when I had the chance to go this year I took it. The following photos may not all be traditionals, but I tried to focus on European makers. This is not all of them, because many didn't interest me, but hopefully something here will interest you.

Maserin had everything from Champagne sabres to pocket tools. Here's a small selection:

I don't remember who had these, but there was a lot of really nice kitchen knives, and I thought these folders would be ideal for when I'm hiking and take the usual sausage and cheese:

WE from China had a huge selection, this is just a part:

Main is a new line from a Portuguese mfr, promising top of the line materials and high quality fit and finish.

Mercator had a lot of representation:

Moorschmied makes high end stuff for the kitchen:

Hubertus had their Springers on display:

Salamandra had some really nice looking traditional patterns:

Claude Dozorme is an old French manufacturer that recently changed hands and the new owner's promising some interesting changes.

Impressive show! It would have been nice to separate the traditionals out for the sake of this forum.

I too was a regular at IWA for years for work but that was some time ago. Dietmar Kessler used to do the show and he was always in the area with all the custom gunmakers.

It's been years since I was at a European custom knife show, I really need to change that sometime.
