I don't have a copy of that issue yet either. I buy it at a local bookstore, and have not yet gone looking.

But...since the recent change of leadership at KI, I have noticed some not so good changes in the magazine. Anybody care to comment and make this thread a little more interesting?

bobH, I believe you were asking about the book, Knives 2001, and not the 2001 issue of the magazine Knives Illustrated, am I right?
I saw the book today at a local store and was able to thumb through it. In my opinion, it is not up to the other years(I have all from 1981-2000, except for 4). But there's good reason for that. I don't have all the details so I'm not gonna try to explain what happened except that Krause Publications who now owns the rights to this book series could not reach terms with Ken Warner who did this book all the previous 20 years. From what I hear, it's also not the new guy's fault(Joe Kertzman) as Krause dumped this on him with a very short time frame.
If you saw the recent thread in Bernard Levine's forum, you'll see that Krause also managed to now own Levine's Guidebook but without Levine.
Anyway, Ken Warner put out his own book this year called Knife Digest. I haven't seen it yet but hear it's pretty good.

This is the best one they have come out with in a while. Check out the section on large damascus bowies, and see if that doesnt get the goosebumps going! There also happens to be a nice picture of my Roger Massey show winning bowie. This book is a best buy.

I meant to pick up a copy yesterday at the NY show but forgot, and when I got there today the table that had them the day before was sold out. However, Louise Weyer (I assume that was her name as it was on the card she gave me) said she had more back in Ohio and could ship me one. So maybe she can ship you one. The number on her card is 1-800-448-8424. This isn't a commercial, I'm just posting a source for all of you who can't find it.
