knives illustrated---article/maker

Well this is the only knife mag I can find in my area but anyway there was in article this past issue. It was about a maker who was asked by an Army soldier to make a knife for him. The maker actually took him to his shop, and together they made him his knife, that he took back to Iraq. I just can't find the article now, and want to know who the maker is. Anyway know what I'm talking about?

Interesting article too. Get to have a hand in forging your own knife for your 2nd run in Iraq.

I like Dales stuff. Didnt he make a knife for a handicap......or a man that lost his hands (not hadicaped if you can work a knife!!!) in a different article in Blade Magazine?

He made a knife for a man who lost both hands in an electical accident. Dale is a friend of mine, his shop has always been open and I've always felt welcomed there. He is ready to show anybody anything they want to learn. He learned a lot from Alex Daniels and Don Fogg, that might give you an idea of how good his work is....he's in Trinity,Alabama... ...I think his web site is down, don't know why...
