results of catra tests in oct. 2010 issue. michael black wrote the article & these six blades were previously tested in england by the alllied trades research. assoc.members are well advised to go to a local vendor to read the entire article. black had the previously tested blades given to him & had dozier heat them out to 60 to 61. note the article was black's opinion of these blades on cardboard. bevels ranged from .008 to .018. please this is a quick summation of the english results. the heattreats & bevels are after the english had already tested & released the blades.in other words these english blades were altered by dozier after the catra tests. black went on to offer his opinion on cardboard which was not of interest to me.any questions can be answered by reading the article itself. the results from the english gave a "close" number between these 3 alloys; 10v, 90v, & 60v. close enough not to state numbers.3v outcut s30 by 25% & s30 passed up 154cm by 20% . black's tests are irrelevant to the english results. this is only a report no conclusions or opinions by myself are tendered.a careful reading of my report will give the info posted by the english.
dennis.. additionally i'll add as a reference departure the english tests rated 10v as almost twice the endurance as s30

Very interesting! And very consistent with other tests, it would seem. I would love to see steels with the "optimal" heat treat for each steel compared, but then we might argue about what is optimal...

The more I use 3V, the more I love it! I'm going to look for this at the newsstand.
