Hey all!

I have been pining away for a Bark River Bravo 1 for some time now. I'm looking for other blades in A2 that I can compare. I will hopefully be getting myself a graduation present this May and am looking at knives around $250 or less. I have heard mention that BlackJack knives are available in A2, but I've only ever seen them in 1095. Anything else you guys can think of? Thanks for the input!

At least look at LT wright or Battle horse knives, they have few models I think you can get in A2 (or call them, they may be able to customize one for you), these are the guys who used to be Blind Horse knives, which you still can still find around. Most of the later Blackjack knives are in A2, made by Mike Stewart who runs Bark River knives. I have an older Blind horse knives called the cavallo in a2, smaller blade about 3 1/2 inches, that I just really like. Good luck and let us know if you go for the Barkie, or any other in a2..

As far as I know, the entire Blackjack Classic line is made from A2. The only 1095 that I've seen were either very old, or the newer Bushcrafter knives. Like the other poster said, current US Made Blackjack knives are now made by Bark River Knives.

The LT Wright Bushcrafter (formerly Blind Horse Knives) is now made in A2.

A2 steel is great, but it does rust easily if not treated. Don't hesitate to try the Bravo 1, it's famous for a reason. My Bravo 1 in S35VN is one of my favorite outdoors knives, I'll never sell it.

The Blackjack Classics are made in A2. They are similar to Randall knives. They are made by Bark River for Blackjack. If you like the designs, they are high quality and I have been very pleased with them.

The last time I checked, tool steel, like A2, is one of the finest knife steels to choose.
A2 or INFI.

Ditto all of that. Here's a Classic M-125, and you can see the "A-2 TOOL STEEL" on the blade tang. I absolutely love this BRKT-made BlackJack:

The LT Wright Genesis in A2 is an awesome knife. The 4.25" blade is perfect for most tasks and the handle just fitsy hand better than any other knife I own.

Fiddleback Forge does knives in A2. This one may be a bit smaller but it is an example of the quality and craftsmanship.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm giving LT Wright knives some consideration. I like the fiddleback knives, but I think they will come out a bit over my price range. Still, food for thought for down the road. I appreciate your comments.

250 will get you a bravo 1 in 3v . I don't own the bravo but I have the Bark River Aurora in 3v . My favorite fix blade . 2en choice will be a GSO 4.1 . Hard to find .
