I will be visiting universal studios in Orlando next week and was curious if anyone has had any problems getting in with a small folder @ that particular park? Does anyone know if things have changed since 9-11? I have had no problems in the past going to the parks so im interested to see. I carry a small fly sebby like it was a body part and would feel nekid without it:p. Thanks for any feedback on this.
Mike

Do a seach on this topic there has been a lot of talk about this subject on the forums. By the way welcome to blade forums. :)

I know Great Adventures has metal detectors. You can't get into the park without going through the metal detectors and a bag search...

I did a search before this post but found nothing related to this particular park. Thanks for the welcome as well. :) I have actually been on here since early "99" but had to change names. My old name was a website that is now sold. Let me go back through the older threads and see if I missed something. Thanks again. Mike
Ok found all the info I needed now :). Sorry for my brain dead spell!! No need to reply to the tread anymore. Thanks again guys.

Mike Kyle,
If you jump to service and support forum you can ask Spark to change your old name to anything you want and you get to keep your origional registration date and post count.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually dont mind the name change so I will leave as is. Looks like im in luck to be able to carry my sebby to universal. :D Mike

Not to say that it is ok or allowed, but I carried my plain edged Spyderco Dragonfly through all of the Disney parks (MGM, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom) without any problems.
I've HEARD that Universal allows blades, good luck,
Matt

I haven't been down there in a few years, but we had more fun at Universal than anywhere else. Actually, I felt right at home, when we first walked in there was an area with grass and benches and ... it was a copy of a section of Central Park in NYC! That means they HAVE to allow knives! :D

I've been to Disneyland in Anaheim several times and always carry my medium TNT in my front left pocket. They do do a brief bag check. In these times I think that we should all support "knife friendly" businesses like Disney.

The better half and I went to EPCOT yesterday and I had a pair of AFCK's in my front pockets. A brief bag search at the gate and that was all. The security guard was very cordial.:)

FWIW,
I wouldn't try walking in with fixed blades anymore. Before 9/11/01 I used to be able to go there wearing fairly sizeable fixed blades(4-6" range), but nowadays I won't push it.
This is just my own choice.

HOWEVER (!), they still sell Brusletto and Helle puukkos at the Norwegian pavillion back in the World Showcase at EPCOT. I meant to ask if I could buy one and wear it there but completely forgot. How :o !
Still, while there, I'm keeping my carry pieces low key for the time being.

Thanks for the info guys. I just ordered a daypack from TAD that I was going to slip the knife into, but I thing she will go in the ole front pocket now. Misque, I see your from my neck of the woods. I am in the ocala are everyday. Mike
