Knives Jerry Made Himself?

Hey Hogs, let's see a list and some pics of knives Jerry ground and built himself. I don't know if we're talking pre-SHSHII, or if his personal knifemaking includes that run. Don't know if he's still making knives all by himself like that, or if those days are over. Also curious if they were one-off customs, batches of the same model, or a combination. Educate me, and let's see the old ones!

Well I don't know if he completely made this himself, but he did the grinding and is the only one who has ever sharpened it. The first one done and one of a kind, it's the prototype and has a stamped Busse logo. Also, IIRC it is thicker than subsequent ones--

From what I understand, Jerry did all of the grinding on production, custom, and variant knives up to around 1999 to 2000. The coated production knives were pretty much done by machine and finishing touches done by Jerry. I believe he still plays on the grinder these days... the man loves and has a passion for making knives. So I would guess that he makes a lot of the prototypes for new models... and I'm pretty sure Garth thows his mad skills in on these too. Not sure if any of these hit the open market, stay in the shop, or are given out to a select few.

I think it would be way cool if Bossman would throw a sole autorship piece in a ganza or two each year. That would just be AWESOME! (hint, hint ;) )

Well that would be cool to know that up to a certain time, Jerry had a hand in all the BBSHSH's, SHSHII's and SHBA's.
 
Ah...so that makes the Gifted Badger even MORE valuable to me. Especially since it was supposedly a proto to begin with. :thumbup:

I've done a LOT of research, reading, and had lots of chats with old guard hogs
that were around before the whole internet thing. ;)
There's a LOT of great stories and info out there... most of which I've sworn to secrecy! :eek:

I understand that the Jungle SHBM we sold you was done by Jerry too, it is also the only one around.
