Hey all,

I'd like to know what are your favorite knives magazines, and particularly if you know issues (#) of knives mags with articles about balisong.
I know the French mags on that subject, but not really the mags from other countries... I'll be glad to know what they are...

Hi Guillaume,

By the way great site, I have been doing your pen tricks in class for a long time. The magazines tony mentioned are the ones that come to mind, but I prefer Blade Magazine, as it seems more professional and covers a wider range of knives. As mentioned, the mags here don't have too much along the line of balisongs.
 
Have you seen a balisong article in Blade lately?

The reintroduction of the Bali-Song line? No.

The introduction of two new blade styles and the black coated handles? No.

Monarch? No.

Tachyon? No.

Swat? No.

I know that at least some of these manufacturers have sent press releases and photographs to Blade and been told that Blade policy is not to publish articles on balisongs. Blade runs Bladeshow, of course, and I've been told that they don't want any balisong demonstrations as part of the official program.

It's KI for me. They've got the best pictures anyway.
 
I do get all those mentioned, but boy it's hard to beat the pictures in Knives Illustrated. Doesn't seem like anyone is interested in the politically incorrect practice of doing a Bali-Article here and there.., and I had forgotten about the article Kutch mentioned in January 2000.

What are the French Mags that have Balisong related material Guillaume? Thanks!

I buy Blade and KI every month, and the French Excalibur magazine, which had a pretty big Balisong article in it.
Does anyone know where I could get the Japanese knife mags online?
 
ExamonLyf, I know only two knives mags here in France.
They're quite expensive but nice (quality of paper and photos).
It's
- Excalibur (as mentionned by BaliDude), and
- La Passion des Couteaux.

Regarding articles about balisong, mmh not much.
I found 2 articles in La Passion... (ref here:

BaliDude, what is the issue # of the Excalibur with an article about Balisong? Can you retrieve this info please?

I didn't realize this, what a shame!! They're traders to their own hobby and business as far as i'm concerned...
 
Guillaume, the balisong article is in Excalibur #21 (juin, juillet, aout 2001 edition)
 
Appreciate the information!! I don't believe I've ever seen either publication, but I'll check it out at some of our bigger news stands with International stuff....
