What is the Sure Grip material on the scout? Is it a composite like G10 or injection molded polymer like FRN?

Thanks

Elkins45 - It is Santoprene. Santoprene is a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). It is the mixture of in-situ cross linking of EPDM rubber and polypropylene. It is supplied as pre-compound material which is able to process by conventional thermoplastic tools. SantopreneTM is a thermoplastic compound that is processed in much the same way as any type of plastic. The difference is that SantopreneTM possesses the same levels of flexibility and durability that are commonly found with natural rubber compounds. Because of the longer life of santoprene in both extreme hot and cold environments, the material is often preferred over the use of rubber.

The handle and frame are drilled and tapped on both sides to provide secure anchor points for the removable/reversible pocket clip. Substantial locking liners are recessed and tightly fitted into each handle, so the overall thickness is thinner (by about 1/8") and stronger than most folding knives. An "open frame" provides an easy-to-clean folder, so important after field-dressing chores are completed.

This is the all the info I found out about the handle material. Hope it helps. Take Care, Steven
