Does any one have any comments regarding knives of alaska products.
I recently purchased an alaskan hunter wolverine. Upon further examination, I noticed the grooving along the spine was flattened and the handle scales are poorly matched. Has anyone else noticed similiar quality control issues from this company. I have purchased an alpha wolf knife earlier, its great, and holds and edge well.

I would appreciate anyone's comments.

The only KOA knife i have is a Magnum Ulu, as close to perfect as possible. Cuts very nicely and the edge has held up (although I haven't used it hard). Even the sheath is a work of art.

Your wolverine sounds like it has cosmetic issues. Have you contacted the seller or KOA about it?

I purchased the brown bear combo as a gift for an uncle of mine who loves knives. I was disappointed in the edge grinding of the skinner/cleaver knife. the bevel was uneven and at one point along the blade the grind was a bit deeper than the rest of the blade. I made it a point to reprofile the knife edge before I gave it as a gift. The finish on the edge wasn't as pretty but at least it was even. Since then he's commented on how well the knife holds and edge and loves the set. This was the first and only purchase I've made from this company and although the knives look great my first impression of their knives wasn't. I was hoping that I just was unlucky in my purchase now I'm not so sure.
