I was looking at the Xtreme Yukon from knives of Alaska. The have 2 versions with one having an edge on the back of the blade. Does anyone have one and how do you like it? I was wondering about the double edged blade for skinning etc

Never used it but I'd be a bit leery of having that sharpened back edge right in front of the thumb rest. That classic Grohmann design has been successful and popular for about 50 years though.

thats what I was thinking. It appears the steel os better in the Knives of Alaska which is why Im leaning that way

I always thought the Knives of Alaska Muskrat would make a nice little skinner. I'm not keen on the idea of the double edged Yukon but the single edged version looks nice. I have a custom interpretation of the Canadian Belt knife design and several from the Bark River Canadian Guide series and am a fan of the style.
