Does anyone have any comments on Knive Of Alaska Bird and Trout folder Carbon Fiber model with D2 steel? They were mentioned in an article in recent Knife World article and the folder looks like a nice folder. Thanks.

All of their stuff looks awesome. I try to stay away from their website. One of these days I'll lose control and take out a 2nd mortgage and buy their entire line.:D

I am thinking about getting the Bird and Trout folder. It has a slim Wharncliffe blade and seems about perfect for a pocket carry without a clip. i could not fine any on line dealers so I will order from there web site. Thanks for a comment.

Looks like it would be a great EDC knife. I wish you could find more readily available one hand folders with carbon steel blades like D2, 1095, etc.

I've got a D2 benchmade on the way now.

This is the only KOA I have. I picked it up a couple years back and carried it for a couple months. It's a good knife. Holds an edge well.

The only KOA I have is their Magnum Ulu, also in D2. I comes in a beautiful leather sheath.

The edge came very sharp and durable -- lots of chopping and slicing. It takes some practice using an ulu, especially a hunter version like this which is really designed for skinning. But it's fun to use on vegetables and fruit.

I trust the company's products.

That is the model I am looking at which is the Hunter model and the Bird and trout model which has a Wharncliffe. Is your knide well made and lite weight? Thanks for the comments and the photo. It appears KOA have an office in Dennison,Tx and I will order there as I cannot find any online dealers.

I am sorry that I have not used that knife before, but I have had several KOA knives and just sold another one (Whitetail Trekker) on Friday. Good quality - great knives for a user.

I used that Hunter in Alaska a couple years ago. I like the size and weight, and it's a very good all around pocket knife. Buy one; I think you'll be happy. They make good product.

I ordered the Bird and Trout folder from KOA. The Hunter model was on back order and I will more than likely get that one when in stock. Thanks to all of you for your comments. I have been looking for a folder without a clip and lite and pocketable enough to carry. I have a couple of A G Russell Featherlite folders in ATS34 steel that I like a lot but looking to add something new.

I love the Trekker series, but I can't believe they made a hard use outdoors knife without a lanyard hole.

Glad to hear about there customer service. When I placed my order with KOA I left the dot out on my email address DUHHH. A nice lady Debbie figured out what I did and fixed it and let me know by email. It is good to deal with a company with good customer service.

I like ALL of the KOA line, and some of their Sets too. We had a Sportsman's Warehouse here until it closed and they used to carry an extensive line of Knives of Alaska. They truly feel and appear to be very well-made, and the sheaths (like Esav said) are very clean and nice.

Only thing that bugs me is......most are all D2..... not my cup of tea. It's a personal preference, but I just know I'll end up buying their Alpha Wolf in S30V, their Jaeger Boning Knife!!!!!! in 154CM, and probably their Cub Bear and the little one with the rounded end (can;t think of the name).

Very attractive knives and sheaths.

KOA are nice people if your in Denison TX during the work week stop by they will be glad to give a tour of the shop I did .

I got my tracking from UPS/KOA and my Bird and Trout folder should be here today. Very excited about this knife because of all the nice comments I have heard here about KOA. BTW, KOA told me the Bird and Trout folder is only available from them and not there dealers. Thanks to everyone who posted here what they think about KOA. Great forums and people here.

I have used the KOA Bushcamp knife for many years. It is a very comfortable high quality knife with good steel and a good design. I don't have the bird and trout knife but I can recommend the company.

Hey Stretch. Yeah we ha a Sprotsmans Warehouse here in Wisc. also. but closed down due to mismanagment. (So I was told by the people that worked there). I think I spent 1/4th of my life in there looking at the HUGE amount of blades not seen anywhere else. I got 4 different KOAs there, I had to sell some, But am keeping my last one. But yeah the blades and work is Great. Very tough blades. I would buy another without thinkin twice. Good stuff!!! enjoy edgy
