I would like to see a listing of the knives the Experts prefer.
I know Cody Lundin likes his Mora. I guess Tom brown likes the Tracker. What do all the others use? I don't think knowing would change what I like I am just curious.
I am no expert but I like a carbon steel blade about 4 1/2 " and no more then 3/16" thick.

I know that Bear Grylls used to used his own design Bayley custom knife seen here (http://www.bayleyknife.com/site/s4.aspx) and now uses a Gerber Prodigy.

Les Stroud used a Buck 119 on his show for his fixed blade. I think I have seen him use a Victorinox Swisstool at one point in the earlier episodes and then I think he used a Leatherman Wave later on, but I am not sure about that.

Mors Koshanski preferred the Mora as well.

Ray Mears - of course, carried his 4 inch 01 steel Woodlore (sort of the quintessential knife in this forum in various forms).

Dave Canterbery also designed his own blade - that is being made by Blind Horse Knives.

I would like Rick to answer what Mr. Beauchamp carries - that would be interesting.

I think the experts have figured out that the knife you use isn't really that important....

^nice knife....BHK is awesome.

Southern Cross uses falknivens. Id classify him in with these guys.

Pict likes his machetes, another guy Id throw in.

Les Stroud likes his multitool.

Bow uses one of my knives, now:thumbup:..... before that, it was a CS SRK in Carbon V.

Neither Tom Brown Jr., or most of his instructors use the Tracker or the Scout.... at least not on the courses I attended.:thumbdn:

Ron Hood really does use his ATAX.... and his Anaconda.... and his Hoodlum:thumbup:

Bear uses the edge of his magnetic room key card thingy.:p

Marty Simon uses a Bark River Fox River

George Sears used a "Nessmuk" and "Ace" Kephart used a spear point "Kephart"

Knives are as individual as people thus all of us will like something different. What may work for some may not for others.

Its OK to be influenced by others but it up to you to find the right blade for your needs.

Better way to ask the question.............

What is the most common user for my given climate or region ?

While there are exceptions, chasing celebrities knife choices is like beliving everything that is said on here.

I'm just saying

Which one of yours does he use. I have an idea, I'd like to know if I'm right.

I can't believe everything I see here?
I already know what I like, I thought it would be fun to see how diverse the field of experts are in their knives.

I am of the belief that the 'pros', whatever that is, chooses his blade based on endorsements, monetary kickbacks from manufactures and based on what looks cool on TV.

If a bushcraft pro is someone who makes their living off the endeavor, then follow the money, as with every other sport.

Do you think some guy on the Golf channel uses a Callaway because it's a better club?

How much is Mora paying Cody?
By "pro" I am talking about the people who teach and have been practicing what they preach for years. Not just the ones with a TV show. I just thought it might be fun.
Great looking knife Magnussen!
I like seeing how different everyone's tools are.
