Matt Lauer on The Today Show this morning had a guest who represented one of the Airlines. She was attacking the new Knives on Planes policy calling small pocket knives like the Victorinoz deadly weapons and totally unnecessary on planes . Just another attack from the liberal media... so typical!

This doesn't surprise me. What does surprise (and extremely hard to believe) me is that planes full of grown men could be hijacked by a couple guys with box cutters. Either way, I don't know if this should be in general discussion.

I am an ex-Marine, gun and knife owner AND I support the restriction of guns and certain (if not all) knives on all passenger and commercial aircraft. You can still bring whatever knife or sword you want with you, as long as you pack it in your check-on luggage and not a carry-on or on your person. Why you would need access to it during the flight is beyond me. What it comes down to is if you don't like it, then don't fly. You can take the bus or train or drive or walk or get your own plane and fly yourself to wherever you want to go.

It wasn't just box cutters. The hijackers also had fake bombs strapped to their bodies and threatened to detonate them if not everyone complied.
