Why is it that so many knives come sharp in all the wrong places?
I almost always have to take the old silicon carbide paper to various spots on handles and blades in order for them to be up to par.
And this isn't just a "Grow more callouses everywhere!" type of thing...I've had some of my knives wear holes through the pocket before I sanded down the pointy/sharp bits.
And it doesn't take too long to do it, which is why I haven't really complained about it too much, but it does bring up a good question.
Why don't the production knife companies just do it themselves more often?
Is there some segment of the knife buying public that likes having holes in their pockets or hot spots jabbing their hands?
