My ESEE 3 and 5 showed up today. Knives were what I expected. I think I should have ordered a 4 and 6 instead. I guess my inlaws are getting knives for christmas this year! Next week I will get my next order in.

The sheaths are causing me a little trouble. The clip plates on both sheaths slip right off my riggers belt and are too small to work on my duty belt. The mole back that came with the 3 is too loose on the belt and slides around. I think I am going to have to build my own attachment system? I have tek-loks on order but I bet I run into the same problem with sizing.

Hmmm....thinking....maybe a ranger band around the belt to keep the sheath from sliding? Being able to move the sheath around is actually a benefit to me, but I can see how it could be a pain too. Is the MOLLE back too small for the duty belt too?

For what it's worth, my 3,4 and 6 see the most use. If I could only keep one I'd be hard pressed indeed to choose between the 4 and 6. Actually the 4 is all the knife I need usually, but I bring a 6 serrated for backup when I'm in the woods. Junglas rides packside. Don't get rid of the ones you got, just get more of the ones you need.:D

If I wear a web belt ( not usually) , I rig up a dangler system with paracord. I have no issues with a large teklok so I bought a few of those. Great on the 3 and 6 I have.

The ranger band is not an option for me. These knives will no doubt see -30F if not colder this year. The way the molle back is set up will work well when used on a molle kit. When it is used on a duty belt it slides. I guess I could tie it in place with para cord but having to "rig" something to fit and have to check on it occasionally would have me thinking about it all the time. I don't want a permanent attachment nor do I want an attachment that would have me putting a band aid fix on it. I will have to put some more work on it next week. The knives first field use was supposed to be in a couple weeks but they may have to take a back seat to the "old faithful". I can't stand taking something in the field that isn't perfectly set up. Past experience tells me I would just be disappointed.

Copy that. Good luck and let us know what you come up with. In the meantime I'll let you know if I think of anything.

Can't you just send them back? I love my RC4, great knife. I have a Junglas, and a RC5 as well. That 5 is thick, and heavy, cool knife. Yet, I would prefer to have my 4 and the Junglas in the woods, rather than a 3 and a 5.
I've been on the fence about the RC6 for a while, trying to live without it.

The sheaths themselves are ok but the attachment points won't work in my application. The molle attachments work well but when attaching the knives to any belt other than what I consider dress belts they tend to be either loose or wont grab the the belt like my other sheaths. I went ahead and ordered some material to make my own attachments to bolt onto the esee sheaths. I am not sure what I will use for metal yet but I was thinking the magazine spring from a REM 700 long action might work. Otherwise I will head off to my local steel company and see what they have. If nothing else I do my own metal fabrication so I can just build a loop style belt attachment with teeth grabbers to keep it in place.
