Does anyone remember who used that for a blade stamp? I have a couple of knives I've owned for maybe 20 years with the THS stamp but I've managed to forget who made them. I wish everyone used their name on their knives. I know I bought one of then at the NYC show in the old Roosevelt Hotel. Kind of tells you how long ago that was. Thanks

Tom Hetmanski used that stamping, he passed about 10 years back, was located in NJ for most of his career.

Thanks Tltt. That names comes back to me now. Like I said earlier, I wish everyone used their names on their blades. There are too many knifemakers out there and the names in the business are always changing for many reasons. I don't know how many times a widow has come to me with her late husband's customs and asked who made them and how much they were worth. Way too many times I don't have clue on a knife more than a few years old.

Bro,

You are griping about knives that are marked....at least you have something to go off of.....I must have a dozen knives over the years where there was originally no mark, some of them even from accomplished makers who should know better.

I disagree with you about the "name" on the blade.

John W Smith marks his with a diamond with "JWS" in it, fairly common to search on the internet. Don Hanson used just a "Sunfish" mark, at least he did.....Makers are free to use whatever touchmark they want, and it gives us collectors something to pull our hair out about/appreciate the continued adventure that is collecting....but no mark at all? That is a bit of overreach....and as far as I am concerned, it shows no long terms interest in legacy OR in establishing continuity in work output.

I've saw my share of no mark knives too. But like this THS knife, way to many knifemakers are completely forgotten a few years after they quit making knives. I watched them try to sell the late Chuck Karwan's collection in Eugene. Many of the knives were made by hot "magazine cover" makers of the 70s but the ones without a clear name were mostly totally unknown to current buyers. I remembered some of them but then I'm an crusty old guy. :)
P.S. The THS stamp didn't show up on any of web searches I made.
