Hi,
This is my 2 cent on what is suitable for military use, from my collection.
I remember when I was 18 I didn’t had any insights of “which knife I need for my military service”, I just took leatherman, that what all the other guys were using; When I finally bought a folding knife, my decision was based on “how cool” it will look 😅
So I’ve been there, and trust me, that knife performed well.
Another thing, in this videos I accidentally said “washers” instead of “bearings” on several models.
Enjoy

Folding knives suited for military use

that's almost a lost opprtunity
for manufacturing.
but i guess perhaps there isn't
much potential for growth
in the domestic market...
but wow!
the level of custom crafsmanship
must be really high.
thanks for the reply.
its been interesting!

This was an interesting video. You are right about folders and utility use. I'm usually quick to call out "tactical folders". Folding knives are not a great choice as a defensive tool in most cases. Soldiers and most others who would qualify as "tactical professionals" are not likely to choose a folding knife as an offensive weapon. So "tactical folder" is really more of an aesthetic classification.

On bearings versus washers, I'm an office guy. So bearings are great. I've used my knives with bearings in limited outdoors tasks and they've been alright. If I'm planning to be outdoors, doing outdoors activities, or activities that involves dust, dirt, or sand; I'll usually just carry a fixed blade. So I never choose a knife because it has washers. I have a few knives that run on washers but only because they happened to come with washers.

Thanks,

I also think that fixed blade is the ideal option.
