People collect all kinds of knives. Some have a particular preference. If they are hunters, naturally they would go for hunting knives because out there in the field, a hunting knife is almost as essential as a rifle.

Tactical knives seem to be the rage these days because of its multi-purpose usage. I suppose the image that tactical knives project has something to do with their popularity.

Then there are the utility knives which every household and hotel kitchen can't do without.

We all have our preferences. Which ones are yours?

In the folders, I like mostly the tactical styles it seems. Utility models follow closely behind.
In the fixed blades, Khukuris and large rugged bowie style blades strike my fancy.

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm walking around town I carry my tacticals (BM 705 or 710). In the kitchen my Henckels cut just about everything. On my annual red salmon slaughter I take two Forshner knives with me. One for slicing off the heads and one for filleting. While fly fishing I have a BM kneck knife clipped to the strap of my waders. It's Gin1 so I don't need to worry about rust too much, it's always available, and not too expensive in case I loose it. All in all I carry one of my 705 knives the most. Probably about 95% of the time. Love that AXIS lock! Have I said that before? :p

So I guess I'm all for using the right tool for the job. I'm always amused by some who use only one knife for everything. Okay, so I've stretched this one to the limit more that a time or two myself.

I don't really have a favorite hunting knife currently. Right now I'm trying to decide what Dozier I should buy. Any suggestions?
