Knives that can be used as Kubatons?

I was looking at cold steel's ti lite, I like that it can be used as a kubaton in a pinch. Are there any other (non-balisong) knives marketed to be used as kubatons when closed?

On another forum, I heard a fella praising the Svord Peasant for use as a pocket stick. From my experience, yes, it would make a good kubaton. Cheap as chips too. But marketed as a kubaton it is not. It's about the least tactical kubaton you could find, which some could regard as a good thing too. If you're after something that looks tactical, don't go with the Svord Peasant.

Keep this in mind: when you brandish a knife, even if you intend to use it as a kubaton, you will be charged with escalation to the use of deadly force.

This is a topic that has been discussed at length in Practical Tactical, and probably in Knife Laws as well.

A knife is not a kubaton or yawara or any kind of impact weapon, even if designed as one. It remains a knife for all legal purposes.

See: (Bram Frank) Gunting.

Thanks for clarifying that Esav.

As for knives, I have always thought the buck 110 would make a decent Kubaton. It is ergonomic and beefy. I dont really know anything about kubaton techniques though, maybe lighter is better.

The kubaton was developed as much as a pain compliance tool as an impact weapon. See yawara or the Cold Steel Koga batons for the corresponding impact tools.

I walk with a deadly impact weapon: a Canemasters oak crooktop cane.

I live in Alabama, the knife laws here are pretty lax. I don't carry kubatons for legal reasons, I just find them superior to knives as a last ditch self defense tool (no questionable blood on you, ect.) I usually carry a travel wrench, but I thought a dual purpose knife might be easier to carry at times.

id say as long as the knife provided a good grip while closed and had a nice hard part at either end, youd be alright. i can understand wanting a knife like that, certainly id rather strike with my knife then stab, but i hope i never find myself in such a situation.

as esav said, check out the cold steel koga batons, i have the mini, and short of some of my more extreme knives, such as my extrema ratio MPC, is a far better impact weapon, and wayyyy cheaper.

a knife similar to this would work...

Its actually similar to my primary edc...only difference being the handle color(and mine is army, not marines, but that doesn't matter)

but again, watch how you do use your knife; you can get charged heftily for it, even when using it as a "kubaton"

Any of the OTF Microtechs with the glassbreaker could probably be used as a kubaton.

Something that general shape/design would be perfect as a kubaton stealthchaser. Never heard of musamto though.

It's looking like folding daggers are what I'm looking for. Just came across a gerber covert, don't usually like gerber knives but I love the design of this one. Might work, I'll keep looking for a bit though before I purchase anything.

well, the original cold steel tanto would work beautifully, but its blade length makes it illegal to carry, but if you could luck out and find a cold steel mini-tanto, that would be a score. they are both fixedblades, and you are probably looking for a folder.

i think the al mar sere folder makes a good pocket stick when closed. the handle is long and narrow, flares out a bit at the ends.
