the use for the knives would be like everyday use and mabey survival use so i was wondering out of these three knives which one i should get the zero tolerance 0100, the gerber lmf II, or the microtech currahee.
Everyday use where?
Survival where?
If I were you, I would save up and get a Busse BATAC.
Why use a folder to chop down a tree branch and how exactly would you kill an animal with it?
Anyway out of those I would choose the Kershaw. The company has the best reputation out of all of those and people seem to really love those knives.
edit: maybe I missed your sarcasm?
Sounds like you should be getting more than one knife, ezz.
How about a nice Vic Farmer or Leatherman for around the house (both have saw blades for those trees)
And a nice chopper (Like a Busse, or Ranger) for chopping (or just an axe).
Throw in a nice midsized knife like a Bark River or Mora for food prep...and you're set.
As for killing food with a knife...good luck.
OK ezz...now we are getting somewhere! You want a heavy-duty fixed blade and it appears that you are willing to pay around 200 dollars (the price of the Currahee) for it.
I would say this...forget about a knife with a top guard (like the standard KaBar)...it reduces its useability...you don't need it.
Also...for survival/field use a recurved blade isn't ideal in my book...harder to sharpen.
RAT and Fallkniven (as well as Busse and Ranger) might be what you are looking for.
