i have a birthday coming up soon, and i really want to treat myself to a super nice folder, any suggestions? my price range is between 150 and 225.
a folder with a blade around 3 inches would be perfect! all suggestions welcome and thanks in advance! :D

Do you have a brand you like? Flipper, assisted, framelock, liner lock, type of blade and metal?

You should check out the "Doug Ritter MK1" with M390 steel. It is 140 bucks. It's a collaboration with Ritter and Benchmade on the Benchmade 551 Griptillian. It has better steel, a broader blade, and an absolutely stunning stonewash on the blade. Another option could be the Brouss Blades "Silent Soldier." It isnt necessarily for everyone, with a strange blade shape and a beefy handle that some may not like. However, it is an extremely functional knife and i think you can get it for around your price range. Hope you consider these options!

thanks for the suggestions! but i already have a bm mini grip and I'm kind of looking for a different design (i still really love the griptillian design) and ill look into brouss blades! thanks again!

Gosh, my favorite folder in a 3" has been the Spyderco Sage 2, titanium scales, for a very long time.
I have had as many as four at a time, NIB, in my safe. Down to one at the moment; trying to hold onto it.
I really love everything about this knife...grip-length, blade shape and steel, titanium "feel, fit and finish, wonderful knife. The price fits okay.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Thanks! i have seen the sage line before, and the sage 2 did catch my eye because of those gorgeous scales! i might look into it a little deeper, thanks for the suggestions!!

No problem. Im sure theres nice ZT knives for your range, and some Emersons if youre interested in that as well.

Wow, thats nice. Im just not a fan of the thumb disk, and cant afford an emerson so i got the spyderco endura 4 wave. It kicks ass and its a third of the cost of an emerson. Only downfall is it's made in Japan, but i would rather that than China or Taiwan.

It's a mistake to equate the quality of products made in Taiwan to the quality of products made in China.

Taiwan's been making much higher quality knives than China.

Have you had a Spyderco from Taiwan? Or hell, even an Ontario Rat 1?
I havent, actually. I didnt even think about the Rat 1, and that definitely is a great example. I would still prefer Japan over Taiwan, however. Thats just my preference. Hell, my preference is US produced but other than that Japan is a decent option.
