Have you seen this? A little scary.

I don't doubt you, but would you mind expanding a bit before I click on this link...?

Thank you.

(I actually block all ads from searches and facebook anyway, so I guess in a roundabout way I'm already guilty of this).

Facebook is a sinking ship... I jumped in December 2014.

I understand social media is huge but I think flooded markets are just as much to blame as pulled ads. And honestly I dont think I would rely solely on facebook for my advertisements. All eggs in one basket if you will.

So KA-BAR doesn't have a facebook page?

Oh, wait:

How about other knife brands? Why pay for advertising?

Personally, I like facebook for what I use it for: Posting pictures of my family and friends so my other friends and family can see what's going on in our lives. It's the 21st century.

Anyhoo, I hate targeted ads on facebook and other sites and currently employ AdBlocker and FlashBlocker anyways. Some stuff gets through (whatever BF uses to host their ads is immune) but that's fine.

At the end of the day, it's up to private companies to decide who's advertising dollars they will take, right?

This seems rather alarmist.

Right. A little scary like companies choosing who's money they take to show ads for? So is it the op's idea that companies should be forced to take ad money and show ads from everyone interested? Do you think this is some sort of censorship of annoying advertising?

Exactly. Not to mention, I got a bit of a chuckle at the sinking ship comment. Their reported revenue (which hey, comes from incoming advertising dollars) is up 39% this quarter, and they've made like 4 billion in profit. Facebook is many things, but a sinking ship? LOL No.

I think the point was missed. These were advertisers that were droped do to content ( showing knives )
Any way good to hear knife folk are not worried that recreational sharps may be next on the liberal block.

Actually, I think the issue lies with the correlation you were making. There are a ton of knifemakers on Facebook, as well as pages for the big guys (I know this because I follow a ton of knife pages). So, where's the censure?

And it looks like this youtuber noticed a pattern. Just wondering if anyone else has heard about this.
I guess I will see if a ton of knife makers become effected.

I think it's possible to discuss this without getting political.

Anyway they're a private company, why shouldn't they be able to choose what ads they host regardless of the content? It's not like they're taking knifemakers' pages down, as Quiet said.

No, I displayed your point perfectly and it has no bearing on whatever you think the "liberal block" is. They are just ads put up by companies to sell stuff to the masses. You are treating them as if the are sign of the times. This would be like if the local radio station stopped advertising for strip clubs. You would think all strip clubs were in trouble and that radio station should put on all ads no matter the content and even if it doesn't make them money. All ads for everyone all the time!

Seriously though. Folks will find anything to complain about. "I'm not getting the kind of mindless advertising I want !"

I am worried about knife rights. There are actual issues to be worried about. This ain't one of them.

Sorry, I kinda think we are worried about the same thing. Again the message I got from the viedo is concern for the beginning of censorship.
Maybe I am reading to much into it.
