Knives used in TV shows - for good purposes

I was watching Glee Wednesday night and saw a rare use of a knife (for good purposes) on a mainstream TV show...

The character Puck was in a hotel room with a female character who has down syndrome. They were having an "anti-prom" with some other kids... anyways the down syndrome girl was somewhat upset that she was not voted that year's "prom queen".

So after a moment, Puck said "I have an idea.... bust out my knife..." and proceeded to cut them both cardboard crowns out of beer boxes and go into the official prom as the "anti-prom king and queen"

Anyways just thought I'd share, a heartwarming use of a knife on a mainstream TV show... maybe some people who watched the episode will realize it's not abnormal to carry a knife if they see their favorite characters doing it.

If anyone's seen other instances of this on TV, please share :)

Every Macgyver episode.

He typically used a Victorinox Tinker in most episodes but he did use other SAKs throughout the series.

I was watching that episode, as well (With my Wife, who MADE ME :D), and was pleasantly surprised to see the knife. His character tends to be portrayed as the more rebellious persona of the group, so it may be playing toward that angle, hence the "Bust out my knife" comment, which was entirely uneccessary. Still, a knife used in a positive way on prime time TV is a good thing, in my book.

Take my man card from me, if you want. It's a great show!

I watched Supernatural reruns and they have several fixed blades on there. Demon slaying and blades are a great combination.

I'll also add that there was a 9/11 movie, can't remember which one, where this guy goes to help find survivors, and he was a former marine, and took a Kabar with him

NCIS has a knife being put to good use in almost every episode. Not just some cheap frost cutlery job either it's usually something nice like a ZT.

Let's see threre was Lost, Survivor and even some scenes in The Walkin' Dead where a knife was use for stuff other than De-Animatin' Zombiez.

Ya, I don't understand how Glee is a show... It really represents the degradation of our civilization. I'm fairly certain that the zombie apocalypse will spawn directly from the set of that TV studio.

Yes it is :D

5 posts in and no effort to ID the knife? :p

Allow me then. What knife was it?

Not sure at all, it was slightly off-cam... maybe so the show wouldn't be rated as having violence or something? Or maybe because of the director's choice? No idea. Pretty sure a two-hand opener.

Anything that makes people subconsciously think of knives more as tools than weapons is good in my book.

I saw a Spyderco knife (didn't see it long enough to identify) used in some car/motorcycle modding show. They used it to cut open a box that was "impossible to open". The episode they were making a Monster (drink) truck for some skateboarding company or something like that. It was kinda cool.
