again I ask for your knowledge.

do you know about any production knives that looks like the buck 110, that can be used with one and?

when I say I want it to look like the 110 I'm talking about the "old school" brass, wood, brass look. it doesn't have to be brass, it can me other metals.

if you don't know about knives like that, the wooden scales can cover more than the middle of the scales, or even the entire knife. the most important part is that it can be used with one hand.

I do have a benchmade bone collector with walnut scales, you don't have to mention that.

I have a Buck 560 (110 blade, titanium scales) with a "One-Armed Bandit" thumb stud. They used to be available, you might have to hunt around now. It screws onto the blade.

Mcusta and Al Mar both have wood one-handers. There's also the wooden version of the Enlan EL-01. I'm sure there are plenty of custom makers who could mod a 110 for you, too; there's plenty of room for a stud on the closed blade.

I have your solution.

Get a Buck 110 (or 110 custom!)

Then add a kwik thumb stud.

Boom.

Cold Steel makes a couple. The model names escape me at the moment.

The Cold Steel Voyager series have a similar looking design. At least the older models had similar looking blade and handle, although the handle material is not wood. The newer models look a bit different, at least the handles seem to be redesigned.

Cs has the new mackinac and lone hunter that you might be interested

I agree, but IMO, I don't think they look as good with a thumb stud. here's what I'd do in your case.

buy a buck 110. love it cherish it, and then (this is just my assumption) if you want a knife specifically for the hard use durability of the 110, go out and buy a tri-ad lock knife from cs.

that's what i'd do, but if your set on the thumb stud go with the mackinac or lone hunter

Cold Steel just started making one, it even has a faux stag handle option. It is gauranteed to be stronger than REAL bone, and impervious to the elements and most chemicals. :D

Try the A.G. Russell medium Gunstock Lockback. It has the look of a traditional with the lockback of the 110, with a choice of handle scale (cocobolo wood, brown rucarta or yellow delrin). Instead of a nail nick it features a thumb notch you can use to swing the blade out (think spydie hole), which works quite well.

people also make quick open sheaths for the 110, you can add a thumb stud to a 110, there are DA auto 110's which are worth a pretty penny. like mentioned about there are the BM/HD Hardtail series which is what I consider a modern rendition of a 110, Im sure you can swap out the scales for some wood, far better then the skull inlayed g10 IMO

Here's a Buck 110 with a "thumbstud" for one hand opening. Some Buck 110s and Buck 112s have a soft enough pull that you can open them one-handed as shown in the video above without a thumb stud. You can also get a brass bar that fits much like the thumb stud that doesn't protude as far out from the blade as the thumbstud does.

How about searching around and providing pictures of them or at least the model numbers. I'd be interested. Might be worth picking one up. Thanks.

Refer to the link in Post #6, right after mine.

Case Trapperlock. Thumbstud, pocket clip, and liner lock I think. Never used or seen one but I like the look of them.

Ever considered HD Hardtail by Benchmade? No wood in handles, but visually it resembles 110 and has a similar feel in hand, but much lighter and has better blade steel and lock. It's one of the best designs in BM current line-up, surprisingly a sleeper though, you just don't hear about it enough.
