From my collection
Kit Carson: for me he is a living legend
Model 4 large and small
Mike Obenauf: Pitty it didn't turn out so well for him. He doesn't make knives anymore. He was his father-in-law's Kit Carson student.
Model 1, model 2 and small model 2
Christian Rankl: a very talented maker not so well known in the USA.
This is a folding hunter made by this German knifemaker. It is a pretty massive folder. The ATS-34 blade is 3 1/2" and the overall length is 8 5/8". It has a tail lock mechanism which is quite similar to those of Bennica. Push down the tail of the handle to open the blade. Liner and fittings are made of stainless steel and the scales are desert ironwood.
Christian Rankl started making knives in 1989, and became a member of the German Knifemakers Guild in 2000. He has made folding knives for many years, including collaborations with Dietmar Kressler.
The pictures come from the dealer who sold me the knife.
