Knives...Where Are They Going To Be Legal To Use In The Future???

I was just over in the "Knife Law" forum and I had a thought pop into my head.

It seems that everytime I turn around, I hear of another ridiculous resticting knife law that is designed to keep only the law abiding citizens from carrying/possesioning knives that they (politicians) deem as "dangerous" weapons.
I can't help but think that these laws are getting a little out of control.

So here's the question:
In the future,is there going to be anywhere left for us knife users/collectors to actually be able to carry and use these knives that we buy without fear of prosecution(or persecution)??? It's a lot of money to spend for sharpened paper weights.

Now what I mean???

This whole subject makes me sick everytime I think of it. This is the USA!!! Where are our freedoms going??

If a truly knife friendly place still exists, let me know, I might be interested in moving.

If that's what you think, then you know this is one election you better get all your blade-slingin' buddies to get out and vote.

"Senator" Corzine would join "President" Gore in outlawing water pistols and kitchen knives.

I also think that this might interest my gun slinging buddies too!!!

Well, my president is Charlton Heston (the NRA is being awfully slow, as my membership card still hasn't arrived yet)!

I'd hate to see new restrictions reading something along the lines of:

Possession of the following knives shall be considered unlawful.
a. Any folding knife that has a extension, depression, or hole that would allow it to be opened into a locking position with one hand.
b. Any folding knife with a blade over 4" in length.
c. Any automatic, butterfly type, or gravity knife.

etc. etc. etc.

Chang, I have seen all of your fears turned into laws. In Wisconsin, Atty. Gen Jim Doyle got Balisongs outlawed by signing an executive order from his desk. He saw Balisongs as "weapons only." This goes to the party line of the liberals lately--use a scorched earth policy on anything you don't like. Don't like criticism? Well, that's now 'hate speech,' and anyone who uses hate speech must be a bigot. I agree that this election will be a watershed for free people and good ideas. The problem is that a lot of people feel that the government 'owes' them a living, and a strong central government is the only way to achieve that. People think Waco was the first time that the government killed its own citizens. Wrong. After World War I, around 1920, veterans who had been promised premium pay, the 'Bonus Army' as they were called, were fired upon and killed for camping on Washington D.C. property. (If they'll kill decorated veterans, they'll drop a knut like a bad habit.) The government has become dangerous, and it's funny how much trouble you can get yourself into nowadays by sounding like the Founding Fathers.--OKG

I hope your number 1 priority is to get everyone you know to vote. We can't sit on our asses for this one.

But seriously, this is a growing problem that certainly needs to be addressed.

I fear that it's only a matter of time until the government targets folders that possess a thumb stud, disk, or spydie hole. Yes, spydie fans, I did say spydie hole!!
They did it to autos, balisongs, daggers, and bowies.
Why stop there???

I just feel that this will be the next natural progression of knife restrictions.

I don't like this one bit!!
I will vote for freedom!!!

You could say that again. I think it will all come down to the 2000 election. If Gore gets in you can kiss you $300 folder good-bye, along with your, excuse me,...... ass!. Those dumb liberals will soon be outlawing pickles. I can't stand the democrats. Bush on the other hand I'm sure will do the exact opposite. Actually I remember reading an article in a recent Field and Stream. It was about how Texas, legalized full carry of guns. Many people were betting that crime rates would go up along with murders. But alas, they went down. So I'm sure that Bush would be a much better presidential choice. If you are interested in keeping you knives.

THANKS!!!

I agree that our freedoms are slowly being erroded from us by the sheeple. This is a time to get out and vote and stay active in your own local goverment and let them know how you feel ahead of time before it is to late. It is hard to take one of their laws off the books, much easier to stop it before it happens. Get everyone out to vote. Soon we will be worse off then the communist.

To David2584,
"Huh? Balisongs aren't illegal in WI...Are they? Whats this 42 in my hand?"

Try taking your knife outside or get caught with it at a routine traffic stop. Personally, any guy like Doyle and his cheap 'comb-over' looks like a guy who cut himself learning how to flip a Balisong open! On another note, can we get a knife club started in Wisconsin--maybe to some political work or find Tammy Baldwin a nice looking girl?--OKG
