I am going to Nigeria in 2 weeks to work with local law enforcement on those ever present advance fee fraud emails we all get and counterfeit cashiers check fraud. I will be in the company of US Federal law enforcement most of the time but I get there two days before they do. Anyhow, I have not made contacts with LE there yet so have no contacts to ask and the people I will be with are all out on either holidays or assignments so they are unavailable.. story of my life 
Anyhow just wanted to explain all that to forego the ask your buddies answers. Does anyone have experience carrying small self defense blades in Africa and even specifically Nigeria? I will be carrying two of those amazing hideaway knives from FS. I plan on taking full advantage of their concealment and hopefully no one will ever see it. If they are confiscated at the airport by "customs"
I just hear it is rather dangerous in the area I will be in so I am hoping to carry them to use as a last ditch oh my God I better do something or mama is gonna be a widow situation.
