I really like knives that have blades that are wider than the handle. Especially folders, but fixed blades as well.

The Strider AR is a good example, as is the DDR Apogee, and the Spyderco Lum Chinese...

Anyone know of any others, custom or production?

Move at Mike's request.

Hi,

Finding fixed blade's with blades wider than the handles isn't to hard:). Maker's like Randall, Reeve(his Ubejane), Ruana(28cd), Hibben, and a host of older maker's offer knives like that. Most are on the thick side 3/16, or better(an Elmer Keith pattern run's about 3/8:eek::)).

Folder's are tough to find, I guess because some would find them odd/uncomfortable to carry around. Beside's the knives mentioned, I can only think of a few offering's from Cold Steel, and the traditional heavy clasp knife(Case '72 Bulldog, Ka-Bar grizzley, etc....).

HTH:D:).

Many of the models of Kit Carson and Mike Obenauf have blades wider than their handles. This is something that I have always personally found very appealing.

The Spyderco Salsa is another great example.

Mine is the titanium version. I had it custom anodized by Bandit.

...the Sebenza is actually in this category in regard to folders.

I've always liked the "kitchen knife" approach (blade wider than handle) to design myself. As aforementioned, the Obenauf #1 is definitely in this boat as well.
