Knives with dinner… what’s cuttin?

Standard kitchen knives for food prep. Standard table ware for eating.

My pockets get contaminated with all sorts of stuff, and my pocket knives are use to cut household and industrial items. So my pocket knives are not used for food.

I’m probably old school then and own a sink and wear jeans where I can just clean off the blade for cutting an apple or my steak. 🙄
This generation is scared of most things that have the potential to get them sick such as pocket lint and other contaminants. Sad, but I get it.

It doesn't do much cutting, but the Wine Master gets used most nights at mealtime around our house ;)

Back home in Florida when I'm away from those I often go with the good ole 119, shown here making carnitas style tacos from the previous night's ribs

Which generation? I don't think he's in his twenties. :)

I'm of the generation where houses come with silverware drawers stocked full of utensils designed specifically to be dragged across a ceramic plate.🙃 Knife Knuts are allowed to be normies sometimes.

You do NOT want what is stuck in the action of my pocket knife from work in your food. I cut open literal bags of poison and chemicals that when exposed to moisture generate heat and cause chemical burns. I am not going to detail clean my pocket knife to cut up my dinner. The set of Eversharp Hencklels my wife and I got as a wedding gift 20 years ago seem to do just fine ;)

I do keep a BPS Puukko in my desk drawer for eating apples at work. That's my only dedicated "eating knife", and that is because I don't like getting apple juice and skin down into pocket knife pivots if I don't have to. I used to use a nice little Boker, but if I didn't get around to cleaning it off as soon as I was done, the juice would seize up the action.

Mesothelioma is delicious, I’ve heard.
