I had this idea today. We know that a SAK has a knife with a thumb memory drive. Ok that's cool. But what if the knife had embedded usb applications?

For example with application you maybe could do the following:

- Download product information about your knife

- Receive news of product updates

- Register you knife with a database on the spyderco website (good for warranty work)

- Gateway to online forums and websites

- Perhaps include flash player for marketing.

- Play SPyderco theme song on your computer.

- etc.

Assuming of course cost can be low enough for it to be included as part of the knife without significantly increasing the cost.

There are probably many people who feel that their knife needs to cut and nothing else and I respect that.

I think a USB knife would be cool. Say a knife as part of a first aid kit, you could download information from your computer about say if you were going to the woods, and if you needed any medical information you could press a button and listen xD

Why not take it a step further and make a Spyderco with Bluetooth? That way, a reminder could pop up on your computer screen telling you that sharpening and lube were overdue.

From fertile minds come wierd (and useless!) stuff...

how about going another step further and having bluetooth and gps, and when you cut yourself it calls 911 and tells them where you are

Why not have knives function as knives and computer crap function like it always does (like crap). I would hate to see my knife come down with a virus and lock up on me. What if it started opening and closing on its own? I don't want no robot knives attacking me!
